If These Walls Could Talk

If any old picture is worth a thousand words, then these old pictures must be worth millions. Our “Class of…” Wall is a staple at the Peruvian, with thousands of staff and guests over the years who have stayed for life inside of these frames.

Some of the memories and stories have been told again by Peruvian lifers, young and young at heart – even the ones they’re maybe not supposed to tell:

“I learned work ethic from that year, I was working as a dish-dog by day, taking the bus to the valley at night for night classes at the U, taking every morning bus up, skiing every chance I got.” – Brandon, ‘12-13

“Having to drive to Wyoming to pick up 4 kegs of beer for the disco party in the fort!” – Brian

“My first night in the fort after a long trip from Argentina. I heard someone yelling and knocking the bedroom doors, but I was so sleepy I didn’t pay attention. The next day I found out what an interlodge is.” – Ceci

“One night the Skelton Crew watched ‘The Shining.’ I think there were 3 or 4 of us. Pretty freaky to watch in the old hotel.” – Mark, ’85-86

“Piloting the crowded shuttle van down the canyon road during a semi-blizzard for the employee party at the bowling alley.” – Mike, ’09-10

“The story of The Prophet is all time. I was there ‘01/02-’06 maintenance and shuttle driver with Doug! Some of the best times of my life!” – Ed, ’01-06

“I worked at the Front Desk 2 seasons. 04/05 – 05/06. Wow…I have tears now. What a great experience!” – Noelia, ’04-06

“I’m not sure I can tell those stories, let me call my lawyer first.” – Scott

For all the stories told and the smirks for the ones kept close to the chest, the Class of… Wall is still going strong. Here’s to some especially wacky stories for the ’20-21 season.
