Time is flying and the 2019/20 ski season is almost upon us. This October, we’re getting to enjoy some fall foliage and even some snow! And with a fresh ski season fast approaching, we thought we’d give you a sneak peek on the improvements made (or are making) since you’ve been gone.
OH, IT WAS TIME
One thing you’re sure to notice is the fresh smell of new carpeting throughout the property. We started with the second and third floor Alpine rooms – as they haven’t seen new floor coverings in almost twenty years. And while the old stuff was holding up very well, we all agree it was time. We’ve also removed the twenty-year-old curtains in all of the Alpine rooms and replacing them with modern black-out shades. Finally, as you may have seen on Instagram, we’ve installed brand spanking new carpet in the bar, so now the P-Dog has that new bar smell.
WORKING ON IT
We have begun the process of remodeling the bathrooms on the first and second floor Alpine rooms. Oh, you remember… these are the ones with the small toilets that were originally in trains. These tend to cause all sorts of problems and incidentally, are too darn small to function. Therefore, rooms 45, 55 and 57 are the first rooms to get a bathroom refresh as you can see below!
DIVE RIGHT IN
The (cozy and heated) pool and older hot tub are getting re-plastered and the underwater lights are being repaired as well.
…AND DRIVE RIGHT IN
Our parking lot entrance has been paved over. So no more big dips and bouncing when you’re driving in and out to hit the slopes.
STAY CHARGED
You spoke and we listened! For those who travel with electric vehicles, we are installing two charging stations for guest use.
COMING, STAYING & RETURNING
We have some of the best food in Alta and that’s partly because of the leadership from our Head Chef. But like with all good things, they eventually come to an end. He’s moving on to develop a restaurant in Delaware that he also co-owns as well. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for what he brought to you, our guests, over the years. His Assistant Chef, Kyle Stranick, will be taking the reins as the new Head Chef and is exciting to provide you with the same classic fare and some exciting new dishes as well.
More news from the restaurant! We are delighted to announce that Gretchen Wolf is returning as our Dining Room Manager. Andy Gardner, all-around rad ski dude will be returning this year, ready to take on all the ski tips, rentals and repair needs for the season. And finally, one of the most familiar faces around, Patrick Pike, joins us again for his 24th ski season at the Peruvian. He’s always available to assist you with all of your reservations and on-property needs.
WHY NOT UP YOUR GAME
Consider yourself an advanced skier? Why not up your game even more?! New this season, we are partnering with Alta’s Alf Engen Ski School to bring you Aces Ski Camp, a three-day, four-night event designed for the advanced off-trail skier. There are two camp dates, starting on January 26 and February 9, 2020. Click here to learn more.
SEE YOU SOON
We can’t wait to see you soon for another epic ski season! Have you booked your stay yet?
