It’s about that time to start dusting off your ski gear. Give those skis a little TLC before hitting the slopes for the first time. Here’s some tips from our pros at the ski shop on prepping your gear for the new year.
Skis
Be sure to have your ski shop inspect the edges of your skis specifically seeing if there are any burrs or rust. And if there is any odd looking bases, they’ll most likely need a few layers of wax, helping with both protection and speed on the slopes.
Boots
If you haven’t done so by now, take out the liners and foot beds of your boots. Over the last few months, moisture may have snuck in so let those guys air out a little. When they are dry, replace the liners and foot beds back in the plastic shells and buckle the boots as you would for skiing.
Bindings
Make sure there is not any dirt or grime left in your bindings. If you’re not sure how to properly clean them, check in with us at the ski shop and we’ll lend you a hand.
Transceiver
Safety first! Don’t forget to install brand new batteries in your transceiver. A full battery could just save a life.
So be sure to prepare for the season and give some TLC to your equipment – it could make the difference between a great ski trip and a bad memory. And remember, the Alta Peruvian Lodge Ski Shop provides all of the services to keep your equipment running smooth so you can ski with confidence.
